About BNW2026

Welcome to the fourth Boron Nitride Workshop, to be held in Pohang, South Korea on the campus of Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH). Following the tremendous success of our previous gatherings in Montpellier (2023), Sydney (2024), and Nashville (2025), we are thrilled to bring the BN community to Asia for the first time. The Boron Nitride Workshop series remains dedicated entirely to boron nitride in all its allotropic forms, and over the past years our global community has continued to expand as BN has solidified its position as a material of choice for applications spanning electronics, nanophotonics, polaritonics, lighting, imaging, quantum technologies, biology, materials science, and theory. This year’s meeting will showcase cutting-edge research ranging from crystal growth and defect engineering to emerging applications in thermal management and quantum devices, while maintaining our commitment to fostering deep scientific discussions and strengthening international collaborations. We are particularly excited to highlight the vibrant Asian BN research community and look forward to continuing the growth of our field for years and decades to come. Welcome to Pohang!
